“The opening phases of eruptions are dynamic. Webcam imagery exhibits fissures on the base of Halemaʻumaʻu crater producing lava flows on the floor of the crater flooring. The exercise is confined to Halemaʻumaʻu and the hazards shall be reassessed because the eruption progresses.
“HVO will proceed to watch this exercise carefully and report any important adjustments in future notices.”
